Burglar Proof Your Home Tips by John Castelli

Home burglars are on the rise and it’s actually easier than you think to fall victim to one.

But don’t worry I’ve got you covered with these simply tips.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, American homes are victims of burglary about every 15 seconds.

The good news is that there are steps you can take to prevent becoming another statistic.

The most surefire way to protect your home is to install an in-home security system.

Motion sensors, cameras and timers for your lights are great tools for warding off thieves.

Lock all doors and windows whenever you leave your home.

Use shades, drapes and other window treatments to keep household items out of view.

Trim back any overgrown vegetation around windows, porches and doors.

And finally, be sure not to draw undue attention to your home by discarding empty boxes at the curb with your trash.

These are just a few steps you can take to keep your home and all of your belongings safe and sound.
